Joyful Florals Series
This series uses bright saturated colours to emphasize the joyful feeling of summer. The flowers are painted with loose brushstrokes to create the textures and shapes of each bloom. The vibrancy of these paintings captures the eye and draws the viewer in to the details of the tulips, dahlias, peonies and roses. This series is painted in acrylic on canvas in various sizes.
100 Days of Garden Love Series
My 100 Days of Garden Love series is an exploration of gardens and how we define a traditional garden landscape. I’ve broadened the term to include potted urban gardens, fields of garden farmland and even a garden of flowers on top of a boat. Gardens are more than pretty flower beds, they are an escape to nature and its beauty. This series was painted in acrylic gouache with colourful under-paintings.
100 Days of National Flowers Series
For my 100 Days of National Flowers series, I painted a different national flower for one hundred days. Each painting is intended to bring out the beauty of the national flowers of each country. This series was painted in watercolours and outlined in ink to create an illustrative feel to the botanical paintings.
